Beginning as a DJ over 15 years ago, Esteban Rockett has evolved from performances merely featuring the mixing and blending of pre-recorded tracks, to now “live” performances featuring audio theatrical movement, Psycho- AcousticsTM, musical artistry and innovative sound design. As a Sound Designer & Artist, Rockett has performed for electronic music fans across the globe. Further, the unique “Colour of His Sound” is not fixed in one monolithic domain, but rather is a musical emotional TRIP unconstrained by the multiple fictional boundaries others have created in this music we call HOUSE. Aligning with only a few other luminaries from the original New York City scene, Esteban Rockett’s performances bring out that 1990s New York soulful emotional feeling with the more recent European interactive energy, buildups and vibe. In 2006 Rockett moved his operations from New York to Montréal, where he was instrumental in opening the Montréal’s “Reunion” Summer Afterhours and launched Saloon Records. In addition to his numerous international events, Rockett is now the newest monthly resident at Circus Afterhours in Montréal.
